In 2009 Ashtar Theatre, Palestine worked with twenty young people to develop The Gaza Monologues which have toured the world.

In 2024 the Monologues were updated by the original writers.

These moving, fascinating and eloquent testimonies represent the raw, heart-wrenching realities of Gaza people living through the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

These individuals, known as the Gaza Monologues Authors, are recognised worldwide. Their texts, written when they were teenagers, have been read across the globe in more than 62 countries, in hundreds of spaces, from theatres and universities, through coffee shops and streets, to hospitals and prisons.
Each narrative is a testament to the resilience, pain, and complexity of human emotions. These voices reflect not only the struggle for survival but also moments of profound courage, love, and even joy that persist despite the loss of loved ones, homes, and the essence of what it means to feel human. They remind us that even in the darkest times, the human soul seeks light and meaning.

This production will be performed by local actors, musicians and community members. It is directed by the Palestinian film and theatre maker Nasser AlSwirki.
