A family forest walk and foraging celebration – crafting, nature and community for the whole family! Join us for a magical day in the woods as we walk, forage, and create together in celebration of Lughnasa, the ancient Celtic festival of the harvest. Enjoy a guided forest walk with foraging bingo and Lughnasa-inspired crafts.
Sally Ann Lenehan is an experienced Horticulturist, passionate about nature, growing produce at home and sharing information about the outdoors with children and groups. Sally has organised homework clubs and camps at Direct Provision centres, has co-facilitated seasonal events for families in local resource centres and has delivered Therapeutic Horticulture sessions in the community. Sally is the founder of community sponsorship groups and has a wealth of experience working with families from diverse backgrounds.
Eimear Barry has worked as a Principal Activity Therapist with the Galtee Clinic - within the pedagogical model up to 2014. Since then, she has worked in advocacy, community development and communications - planning and delivering programmes and events, including theatre events, comedy nights, seasonal workshops for families and fundraisers. Among other things, Eimear is trained in group facilitation, restorative practice, exploring the arts with 0-3s, youth mentoring, parent mentoring, family recovery and solution focused therapy.
