Uillinn Artists in Residence - Tomasz Madajczak, Micheál O’Connell and Mairéad Vaughan.
24 July to 2 August, Studios 1, 2 and 3
Saturday 26 July, from 12 noon to 2:00pm - Drop by open studio, meet the artists as they begin their week in studio.
Saturday 2 August, at 1:00pm - Come join an artists' discussion and an open studio sharing of research, to see how the artists progressed together over the week's residency.
This residency supports a collaborative project between three diverse artists: Tomasz Madajczak (visual/multimedia artist), Micheál O’Connell (visual/technology artist), and Mairéad Vaughan (dance artist).
Initially sparked by observing the presence of diggers in the Irish landscape, but expanding into broader inquiries, the three artists have been working together regularly over the past year. The artists have been building up an archive: video, images, experiments, and other records, through meetings, ‘spontaneous’ actions or movement practice and fieldwork (including literally digging holes in a field). The residency will be an attempt to consolidate ways of working together while maintaining autonomy. Let’s see what happens.
