BreakDance workshop for Children with Esmeé O’Brien

This workshop will provide basic techniques for breakdancing, for beginners, and intermediate participants. Beginning with warmup, conditioning, and free movement children will then progress into techniques such as handstands, freezes along with core hip hop footwork and party steps. The session will end in a freestyling cypher, giving the participants a chance to share what they have learned and add their own style.

Esmeé O’Brien is a dancer currently studying on the Contemporary Dance bachelor’s programme at the University of Limerick. She has just entered her third year of the course and is completing her cooperative work placement at UillinnWest Cork Arts Centre. Esmeé has performed at Hunt Museum in Limerick, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Everyman Theatre in Cork, Cork Opera House, Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre, and University of Limerick, Irish World Academy.
