AMERICAN LANDSCAPES

A programme of songs and stories by Roger Gregg

Performed by Hallie Smythe & Roger Gregg.

The award-winning American playwright and multi-instrumentalist Roger Gregg presents a rollicking odyssey of story, song and soundscapes celebrating the absurdities of America’s Rust Belt.

Hold on tight as Roger along with sensational Yankee vocalist Hallie Smythe, take you through through the warped circus mirror of Trump’s middle America into a realm of lust, loss, sex, violence, intolerance and just plain down-home weirdness.

Roger Gregg is an award-winning playwright, composer, audio-producer, musician and actor. Over the past 36 years he has written plays for many theatre companies including: Crazy Dog Audio Theatre, Dublin Youth Theatre, TEAM, The American National Audio Theatre Festival, Graffiti Theatre, Charisma Check, and The Gaiety School of Acting.   His stage and radio plays have been produced professionally in Ireland, Germany, Canada, America and Australia.  His ‘audio-movie’ productions have won many international radio awards including; 5 American Mark Time Science Fiction Awards, 3 American Ogle Fantasy Awards, the HOTPRESS 'audio comedy of the year' and 2 AUDIOFILE magazine Golden Earphone Awards.  In 2006, in a special feature reviewing his work, BBC Radio 4 hailed him as ‘one of a handful of truly great radio dramatists’.

Also a composer and sound designer, he has written and produced music and soundscapes for scores of theatre productions.   A voice actor in scores of  commercials and many animation series,  his most noted roles include 'Eddie the Computer' in the Sony Award winning Hitch-Hiker’s Guide To The Galaxy sequels on BBC Radio 4  and ‘Glarg in  ‘Space Chickens In Space’  animation series for Disney Television.
