Let’s map Skibbereen together through sketches, colour, notes, and memories.
This interactive urban sketching event invites locals and visitors to celebrate the spirit of
Skibbereen by sharing their favourite places, stories, and impressions of the town.
Participants will contribute drawings and written memories to a growing collective map of
Skibbereen.
Collect @ Skibbereen Sketch Stations
Collect your blank ‘skibbcard’ from the Festival Box Office in the Town Hall or Skibbereen Library
Create/Solo
Sketch: Using your blank ‘skibbcard’ template, source and sketch an urban detail of
Skibbereen or compose a colour palette of your choice
Colour one of the pre-made ‘skibbcard’ of beloved Skibbereen landmarks
Write a note, a story or a memory of a favourite place in Skibbereen
Return completed cards to the festival office throughout the week, to add to our map

Gather for a public participatory sketching session organised by the West Cork Sketch Club -
Exploring and capturing moments of Skibbereen, to create ‘skibbcard’s guided by the Club
Compose A Collective Map of Skibbereen
Saturday, August 1, 16:00 - 17:00
The map will slowly bloom with colour, sketches, written memories and pinned skibbcard’s
all connected, revealing an alternative map of Skibbereen through the eyes and hearts of its
locals and visitors.
