Ferry return ticket €8 (paid on the ferry)

 

Artists from Dinnseanchas and artists working on the West Cork Islands Creative Places Ocean and Environment Commission will share work and works-in-progress over the course of a day on Bere Island. In keeping with the ethos of both these projects, the artists are inviting the public to witness and participate. With thanks to our Island hosts Bere Island Heritage Centre. Participants will be split into groups to accommodate everyone comfortably.

1.45pm - (Group 1) Walking in the Stories of Our Mountains by Zoë Rush is an exquisitely crafted immersive soundwalk that uses scientific and social knowledge to create a unique sensory and reflective experience.

1.45pm - (Group 2)

Net(work) with William Bock is a collective process of net mending using waste mountain wool. The session will function as a meitheal, a time to chat while working with our hands to consider the interconnectivity and shared challenges between the uplands and coastal environments.

4.15pm - Poetic Policies, a workshop co-facilitated by Heather Griffin and Patrick Mulvihill and poet Grace Wells, uses poetry as a tool for deep listening, critical analysis, and collaborative visioning to transform rigid policy frameworks into adaptive, regenerative visions. Join us to craft policy visions that honour both human and more-than-human communities.
