Cailin agus Kite

Based on “The Story of Little Old Man” by famous Swedish author Barbro Lindgren. It has been adapted and translated by Marc Mac Lochlainn.
It is a delicate tale of the friendship between and an lonely old man and a Dog no one wanted, its told with enchanting puppets and live music.
This touching story is told by Branar with the help of puppets created by Suse Reibisch and Morgan Cooke’s newly composed live music. The show was created with the help of The Arts Council.
Branar is delighted to be working with Bjarne Sandborg, of Teatre Refleksion, who worked in close collaboration with us as artistic advisor on this project.

Stripped bare of their puppets, Miriam’s hands become two tousle-hared characters, which through play get themselves in and out of some sticky comic situations. Performed using an imaginary international language, Peek a Boo, Miriam’s signature characters, appear before the main production.

A second generation puppeteer based in Kilkenny, Miriam Lambert has worked extensively as a puppeteer and puppet maker for Irish television and numerous Irish theatre companies. Her productions have toured nationally and internationally. Goldilocks and the Three Bears has played internationally in Finland, Pakistan, Egypt and, most recently, at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, USA.
