About
Skibbereen once again pays homage to the vibrant fabric of our community that is the arts and once again we have managed to produce an excellent programme of events with many world-class national and international acts coming to town. Highlights include the 4th Cork X Southwest Music Festival, a gala concert commemorating Canon James Goodman, an excellent Sound & Vision programme of films and drama and the very special Skibbereen Children’s Festival. Value for money is particularly important in these times and as well as the many free events taking place during the week we have tried to keep everything as reasonable as possible. There really is something for everyone this year and we encourage you to come along and support the festival as often as you can – you’re sure to enjoy it! Bainigí sult as na féile, Brendan McCarthy – Chairman
THANKS – This festival could not take place without the generous assistance of our main funders The Arts Council of Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Cork County Council. Thanks to our other sponsors Skibbereen Credit Union, The Southern Star, The West Cork Hotel, Field’s SuperValu, Skibbereen Urban District Council, Big Bear Sound and Cork Audio Visual Services. We are also very grateful to the following people who have allowed us use their premises during the festival; Damian Long and West Cork Cabs, Gerard Desmond, Mark McCarthy and Skibbereen Scouts.
A special word of thanks to Reverend Bruce Hayes and the select vestry of Abbeystrewry Church for allowing us to use their beautiful church as a venue for several events.

This festival would not be happening without the amazing work done by a small group of volunteers who have given a lot of time and effort throughout the year. There’s way too many to thank individually but to everyone who helped in any way at all “Go raibh mile maith agaibh go léir”.
